The Tot Spot program is planned around the concept that children need full, happy and flexible experiences. Emphasis is placed on the needs of the individual child to develop self-confidence and independence through creative play and directed activities in a Christian atmosphere.
The goals of each class are designed to encompass five areas of learning - personal/social, fine motor, gross motor, language and cognitive skills. A developmental approach is employed, beginning with the simple and building to the more complex, realizing that although there are specific ages at which the "average" child achieves a given skill, each child is different and we attempt to reach out goals while respecting each child's achievement level.
The various sessions are staffed by trained personnel with experience in early childhood education. Each class has a team of two teachers resulting in a ratio of no more than 8 students per adult. Tot Spot makes arrangements for hearing and vision screenings annually and will provide contact information for special needs and inquiries.
